Went on Malacca trip with my ex colleagues, whom become my friends and we really had a wonderful time, shopping, chatting and having nice food together. 5 of us including my friend whom drove us around. (Lillian, Janice, Rinda, Stan and myself)
We went to Donald and lily for our lunch, ordered one rojak, 3 bowl of laksa bee hoon, 5 bowl of chendol, one assam fish, one chicken dish (which I am not good in the dish name :P) Food are nice and everyone is happy!
Shopping at Mahkota Parade, tea break at coffee bean, Old town white coffee. Dinner (8.30pm) at Jonker street famous Teo chew restaurant which satisfy Lillian's craving. Lillian has been travelling to Malacca many times, but she do not have the chance to have a meal in this Teochew restaurant (Name will be published when I get my name card at home). This Teochew restaurant is very famous and it is full of Singapore tourists. The table beside us are talking about NTUC, Sheng Siong due to the famous Teochew dessert dish, Yam.
One of the posters printed, I think the brand name is call "Yummy" can be found in Grade A and B NTUC. One lady asked the boss (i suppose is the boss), what is Grade A and B NTUC? You mean got grading one? If dun know, I must go around Singapore asking which one is A or B....Lillian, rinda, Janice and myself exchanged glances as we do not know that there are grading for NTUC. Haha...
I have a incident here I would like to share. Rinda received news that her grandma passed away before our dinner, around 7pm. We can all see her being very sad, but there is no transport back to Singapore at that time. We had planned to send her to Sentral bus terminal to get a ticket on Sunday morning and we did see the tears in her eyes when she received the news while we were still killing time before dinner.
Rinda has always been a very nice friend to have. We can see that she actually did not want to spoil our trip and trying very hard to conceive her sadness.
"She is quieter than usual", Janice mumbled to me when we were walking behind her while walking along Jonker street. "Tomorrow as planned I will follow her back as I have been to the worst country in the world", Janice continued.
Rinda acted as nothing happened throughout dinner and after. But we can still feel that she is very sick about the lost of her grandma.
Finally time to go back to hotel and something unpleasant happened, and I showed my "KL power" there and then...KL = Kuai Lxx = dun give face, very yaya...(Got it?)
A young man/woman (I classify her as butch), dun understand? Butch = neither guy or gal, act and dress like man, no boobs, actually drove and scratched Stan's car even when he honked for more than 10 secs.
We get down to see the damage, while that butch drove off far away to park. Ok, I will call that butch, Alien. After more than 3 mins, no sign of Alien walking to us to find out the damage or even apologize.
Rinda and Janice were angry and they walked towards Alien and girlfriend, and ask them to come over.
Alien walked over unwillingly, then just stand there like a statue. Stan finally asked in mandarin"我HONK 你的时候, 你没有听到啊?"
Alien : 你HONK 我, 我就停下来了"
Rinda can no longer stand the way alien talked and replied in a harsh tone "你停下来,会撞到我们的车吗?"
Stan : 你住在这里的吗? 你是本地人?
Alien : 我刚从新加坡回来?
Me : So you are from Singapore? Oh!! We are all from Singapore! The whole passengers here are from Singapore. So what if you are a singaporean? What you intend to do?
Alien : 我不算新加坡人, 也不算马六甲人 (see why I gave that butch the name ALIEN now?)
Ken : So you are neither here nor there huh? (like your sexuality lor...my mind have this thought at that moment)
Anyway, we finally settled the issue with RM$100.
Sunday morning, went to pick up Rinda to sentral bus terminal to get ticket. While walking side by side with me, she told me "Ken, I go back myself can already, no need Janice to accompany me, she is cutting short her trip, I feel bad. Got ticket and no need to take that taxi alone, I can manage" Rinda is just so considerate for people. But Janice also insisted to follow her back and I will be in Malacca to accompany Lillian.
This is what I call "friendship" :)
Janice's email to me today, so funny of her. I am inputting them here for memorable values.
Janice : Hey there, thanks for taking care of Lillian.
Me : No issue at all as we are all friends :)Lillian enjoyed herself also and she is really very fun as usual to be with.
Janice : I must say you are one hell of a nice guy. Very considerate and sweet!
Ken : Keke…I am always sweet leh… (dun puke hor) It’s nice to be out having a trip together again, although it is a short one. Lillian said that we might organize one that we fly to KL then down to Malacca again.
Think she will look out for offer.
Janice : Let me give you a few examples/incidents which I felt, reflected your kind and humble personality:
1) you offered to carry our bags all the time
2) u sent Rinda sms to tell her you bought the meds and told her not to reply cos autoroam
3) took care of Lillian
4) etc etc
do you want me to go on? ;-)
Wah seh...I am praised by my friend leh...so I am not so "KL" afterall right?
