My ex maid just called me. I told her that I will need the agent to get her the permit to leave indonesia to work in Singapore. The total cost is S$1k, including her stay in a training school, using the training school name to apply for the permit to exit from indonesia, air ticket to Singapore, picking up and send her for medical check up in Singapore.

I asked her to forsake her 2 months salary (S$700) when she is here, treating it as her loan to get here, I have to top up another S$300.

Normally a new maid will owe the agent 8 months salary, which come up to at least S$2400 or currently S$2800. But my clever maid actually wanted to ask around to see if she can get a cheaper deal in Indonesia. Including the exit permit, best if can extend her passport to 5 years. Then she asked me to pay for everything, including her air ticket.

I seriously think she really know how to calculate...and she do not know that I am in accounts. Anyway, let me wait for her to get back to me on the cost, then I will decide. If I have to pay for everything, I might as well get a new maid, which is nearly ZERO dollar involved. I have free replacement and all I have to do is get a new foreign maid insurance to cover the security bond of S$5k and hospitalization fee yearly.
